Ultracopier is application which replace your copy/move dialog when you copy/move your files. It's multi-platform, have great support and community.
It have focus on the data security, performance, bug prevent and modularity. It have multiple version like portable version, debug version, 64Bits version.
You can comparate Ultracopier with teracopy, supercopy, copy handler like me.
Their basic features are:

error management (always skip, retry, put at the end, ...)
collision management (always overwrite if newer, ...)
speed limitation
play/pause, copy list management

And the new version of Ultracopier have improvements (included to come from Supercopier).

Hello,
I'm please to announce that version 1.0 has just been released. The new release has many new features including:

Better data security
Better performance (thanks to a new algorithm)
Supercopier skin have been added
The packaging add the static version
Update detection, a feature that is missing from Supercopier.
And a great number of bug fixes

I've received many requests for improvement, some of which I have not yet been able to implement owing to time constraints. Some requests are rather silly or illogical and I must ignore them to focus on my ongoing development work.

Ultracopier 0.4 in 32bits and future of Supercopier

Hello,
Good news, Qt 5.0.1 fix a lot of bug, bug few remaining. The most important fixed allow the compilation of Ultracopier into 32Bits.
I see a lot of user complain of bug for Ultracopier. For the user, the stability is only if Ultracopier is correctly used by default at the copy.
Report the bug, reply to the question. I will fix it, in general in a few days.
Else how do you want improvement if I don't know the bug!
Supercopier will be continued to have the minor improvement, and Windows compatibility improvement. But for the general structure, changes will not be made (error management, copy mechanism). Why? Because lost 3 years to do the same as Ultracopier is useless (especially into a language few known). But I can change my opinion.
Once again, the performance is not the first Ultracopier's target (even if it's correct, see the comparision). The first target is the data security, the seconds is the features.

I need beta tester for Supercopier 3 in 2013. For more details see my post of supercopier (french) into my blog.
I have done some minor revision of ultracopier to fix some bug (both ultracopier and Qt). I wait the Qt revision, to fix minor artifact. After I will start the next version and the new plugins.
Thanks to support the project (by funding the development), that's allow do professional (and not amator) project/quality/code.

Ultracopier 0.4

Hello,

I have been able to finish Ultracopier 0.4 now that Qt5 has been released. This new release of Ultracopier is entirely based on Qt5, and is not compatible with Qt4. The new version based on Qt5 features very significant performance increases and faster start-up speeds. Currently, I am working to rebuild the rsync plugin. Other good news is that I will soon release some free plugins and on other improvements that will include better integration with Windows, mainly with regard to UAC.
Please note that the 32bit version for Windows is currently broken, although I am working on fixing this. Please report all bugs to me to help me speed development.

The original developer's website for SuperCopier has gone offline. After long discussion and cooperation with the original developer of SuperCopier, he granted me permission to take over as maintainer of the SuperCopier project. I, Herman BRULE will now be developing SuperCopier at the same time I continue to work on UltraCopier. I have released SuperCopier 2.3 with added improvements including better packaging and Windows 7 support.

Ultracopier 0.4.0 alpha

Hello, here you have the alpha (not stable) of the version 0.4.0 of ultracopier based on Qt5 (version debug, not release unit now).
The years and half of beta of ultracopier 0.3 is useless because nobody have test it, and now lot of user report me bug when I can't work on it. I will do test unit (to look the bug into the copy engine), and do more quickly development cycle.
This version have lot of fix, speed improvement, tweak but will not have new features. You need wait 0.4.1 to have new features.

The version RC is out. The remanings bugs are safe for the datas. It can't be resolved without pass Qt4 to Qt5. It will be done for the next version (0.4). See: Copy_and_paste (wiki)
I have few donations and any help. (include text gramar fix) despite frequent requests that I make.
The rsync engine for Ultracopier is release as planed, the patch to intercept the copy/paste under linux have been send to KDE/Gnome, I have even do a dbus plugin, but they are not motivated to include it (however essential to pass under linux for the semi-pro).
I have do the french translation, fix of english text, I'm working on spanish version. The roadmap of ultracopier is on the wiki for the next major version.
I continue to update supercopier and copy handler to compare it to ultracopier.
I no longer include people who reported a bug, and who do not respond to questions that are needed to solve the (mostly false positive).
Continue to support ultracopier!

Beta of Ultracopier 0.3

Hello, today I have released the beta of Ultracopier 0.3.
It's the 0.3.0.10, most know bug is fixed, I wait the version of Qt5 to fix the last know bug with Ultracopier 0.4 (based on Qt5, better performance, smaller size).
You can report to my all the bug what you see.

The features are implemented, what's new from 0.2:

Big performance boost, mainly on small files
Plugins (instant loading/unloading, same with translation)
Checksum, renaming rules, more advanced options, filters, ...
More ergonomic
Log of operation (transfer, ...), transfer list (save/load)
Transfer mode (mixed copy/move)

Evolution (0.1 -> 0.2 -> 0.3):

Size of cpp + h with code: 250KB -> 350KB -> 800KB
Size of application: 15MB -> 4.3MB -> 4.6MB
Performance indices: 1 -> 10 -> 50
Security: 1 -> 2 -> 5

I have open the Ultracopier's shop to support Ultracopier. You can buy the ultimate version (more plugin like teracopy interface, optimized by cpu), and will come the professional only plugin.
Continue to donate to support the open-source developing, and buy for support open source and custom developing.

I'm happy to bring you the Christmas edition of Ultracopier 0.3. It is in alpha state but can be used without major issues. Ultracopier 0.3 raises the bar for performance. The module to intercept the copy under Windows (catchcopy) has been updated to the latest version. The plugin support is yet to be finished. The website for plugins and updates is still on the todo list. Only a French translation is available but you can ask me for a translation pack. Ultracopier 0.3 is based on Qt 4.8.
By default, the interface is similar to supercopier's but teracopy's is also available. This version should be on par with 0.2 regarding features but with increased performance and data safety. The support and development of version 0.2 is definitively stopped.

This release is not officially marked as stable but should not cause any major issue. Don't forget to post your feedback in the forums. Thanks.
Keep in mind that 0.3 won't be released until donations refund the freelances of version 0.2

It's a pre-alpha release thus, do NOT except stability. Anyway, it's a good preview of the next version. Just enjoy, this release comes after one year of development. Note that Ultracopier now offers more possibilities than Teracopy, copy handler and supercopier.

Development is still going on. Remember that this version will not be publicly released until donations refund the version 0.2 development costs.
I am looking for motivated people to join the Ultracopier team (developer, translator, idea, poll reply, designer, webmaster, KDE/Gnome integration, ...) because I am on my own.

I resume very slowly the developing of ultracopier in version 0.3. Lots of new features for this new version:

The compatibility with catchcopy v0002.
Support of the plugins and download of them directly from internet, same for the languages
Internal remake for more performance, and clearness for the developers
Copy engine as plugin, for each developer can choose the language (Qt/KDE/rsync/c++/...) and everyone can code his own copy engines
Remake of skins for better integration

I'm happy that's announce the final version 0.2 of ultracopier. This version add the correction of last bug found after long verification (lot of software like winmerge used for check it), bugs when using translation, and correction of English, and the translation into 12 language (and the writing of a page for do your translating or correct the existing translating)

For the next version lot of unique novelty into the copier, like: plugin, auto-updater, choice of the engine of copie, direct download or via the site of plugins/languages/resources by rating, download, ... But of course: optimization, remake, ... and using the next version of the catchcopy protocol
But few donate, then I will not do the next version at the same speed, because I have a life (rare case for a geek lol), and I can't re buys again freelance with only my cash.

Hello, the beta version is out, with final fix of all the bug. The option "write thread" and "preallocation" is enabled as default.
For the next minor version the plugin, resources, ... can by added, the format is not finalized.

Binary corrected for Mac, and fully tested on Mac Snow leopard.

Hello, the version 0.2.0.5 is out, with lot of bug fix and core changing.
I have more listen the request of the user.
Bug is present, in this case: with the option "write thread" enable. The options "out at bottom" is disabled for it. Thanks to the user donates, the project required it.
Because personnal raison, the next version will out in more time, but I can finish all the bug fix, and test ultracopier in all case then switch the application to beta (which have no bug)

I just released the 0.2.0.4 version, it contains a lot of bug fixes, better external bug management for ultracopier. I have clean up the source code for easier maintenance.
I also fixed bugs on the site comment system.
On the forum, I am asking for recruitment for ultracopier. For specific tasks I plan to hire a freelance thanks to the donates. The donors are always welcome and all skills are searched.
